1935 Auburn Boattail Speedster Continuation car 71 of 138 Assembled in 1976
In 1966 Glenn Pray purchased the defunct Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg company. He acquired the rights to the names and all of the left over parts. He moved the company from Auburn, Indiana to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Initially he began building a scaled down version of the Coffin nosed Cord with a corvair engine. Eventually moving on to a full scale continuation of the 1935/1936 Auburn Boattail Speedster.
An original 1936 Speedster was purchased and molds made from the original body parts. Fiberglass body panels were made from these molds to replicate the original. New old stock Speedster parts were used on the cars. The body was put on a Ford chassis with a 460 c.i. engine.
This vehicle is an un-restored 5,000 original mile Speedster completed on June 23, 1976.
