Plymouth built 7,748 GTX's in 1970 and sold for $3,535. GTX's with a 440 c.i. 4 barrel and a 4 speed manual transmission accounted for 1,471 of them. 1970 was a one year only body design with the unique vacuum operated air grabber hood.
This is an all numbers matching GTX which means it has all of its factory body panels, engine and transmission. It has had one desirable upgrade to the six barrel configuration (440+6) bumping the horse power from 375 to 390 hp. The paint code is its original Hi-Impact "Vitamin-C" orange, performance hood paint stripe, black side stripe and black interior with bucket seats and console.
Built on December 2 in Los Angeles, this vehicle moved to Texas in 1976, then Missouri in 1998 and back to Texas in 2003. In 2010 & 2011 the vehicle underwent a thorough frame-off restoration at which time the 4 barrel intake was replaced with the popular 6 barrel (3 two barrels). The vehicle has since been brought back to its southern California birth place.
