1969 Triumph GT6+ (MKII)

The GT6 was designed by Giovonni Michelotti as a coupe version of the popular Spitfire.  Due to the extra body weight the GT6 was given a six cylinder engine to enhance its performance.   Three different versions (MKI, MKII, MKIII) were built between 1966 and 1973 with only subtle changes to body style most evident on the tail section of the car.

Triumph produced 12,066 MKII coupes between July 1968 and Dec. 1970.  The MKII sported a new rear suspension and the highest horsepower of the three models and was relabeled the GT6+ for the U.S. market.  Original MSRP was $2,995.

This GT6+ was born on October 21, 1968 and shipped to British Leyland Motors Inc.,  in San Francisco, CA.  The vehicle was originally white with a black interior.
