25,086 Coupe de Ville's were made in 1956 and sold for $4,145-$6,500.
Designed by Harley Earl with WW II P-38 emulating fins, torpedo front bumper and hidden gas cap under the left taillight make this a distinctive design.
This vehicle was originally Mandan Red with an Alpine White Top. Mandan Red was a 1955 color that could only be special ordered in 1956. Outside the color change this 91,000 mile vehicle remains largely original with ownership and service receipts dating back to 1964. It moved from L.A. to San Diego, to Lompoc and Vandenburg A.F.B., finally leaving California in 1989 for Las Vegas. In 2007 it moved to a collector in Wisconsin returning to its native home of southern California in 2013.
