1950 Lincoln Sport Sedan
The "Baby Lincoln" was produced from 1949-1951 with 8,332 Sport Sedans produced in 1950 selling for $4,145-$6,500. Other body styles were convertibles, two door coupes and the upscale Cosmopolitan.
If this looks familiar it is because it is based on the same platform as the better known 49-51 Mercury's adored by hot rodders. When Lincoln designed this vehicle they took inspiration from hot rodders that were "frenching" headlights and taillights thus the recessed lighting on this car.
A 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan was the presidential limousine for Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson.
This vehicle was built on May 10th, 1950 at the Lincoln Plant in Highland Park, Detroit. Little is known about this 50,000 mile car other than it has been well kept with new seat covers, fresh chroming and a repaint. The lack of rust implies this vehicle led a pampered life or lived in the dry southwest.
